LERSA, LAWMA, and Eti-Osa East LCDA Embark on Cleanliness and Sensitisation Exercise Along Ajah/Addo-Badore Axis
In a proactive move to promote environmental hygiene and public awareness, the Lekki Estates Residents and Stakeholders Association (LERSA), in collaboration with the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and the Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), carried out a comprehensive cleanliness and sensitisation exercise along the Ajah/Addo-Badore corridor over the weekend.
The exercise aimed to educate residents on the importance of maintaining a clean environment and adopting sustainable waste disposal practices.
Leading the initiative was the Chairman of LERSA’s Environment Committee, Mrs. Ronke Akinsete, who was joined by representatives from LAWMA, the Iya Oloja, the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman, traditional leaders (Baales), and residents from various estates in the area.
As part of the campaign, house-to-house notices were distributed and posted to encourage compliance with environmental sanitation guidelines. Canals and drainage systems were also cleared to prevent blockages and improve water flow, especially ahead of the rainy season.
Representing the President of LERSA, Mrs. Oluyemisi Ladi-Sanni emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining a cleaner, healthier environment and expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their active participation.
